Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked from behind and then robbed, in Radcliffe, Bury. At about 5pm on Saturday 16 August 2014 the victim was walking on the Banana Walk bridleway, having just left the Metrolink station, when he was hit in the head from behind; causing him to fall to the floor. He was kicked in the head four times and heard another man say give us your phone, before he was kicked again and then heard the men running away. One of the men is described as Asian, 6ft tall, between 18 and 20-years-old, and of skinny build. Police Constable Mark Robertson of Bury Division said: This was a violent and unprovoked attack and the victim is understandably extremely shaken by what happened. Innocent members of the public should be able to use the local bridleway without fear of being the victim of a crime. We are urging anybody who may have any information or may have seen the two offenders to contact us. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9594 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
