Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly couple were injured in a crash at Macquarie Park overnight. About 11:40pm, Friday 15 November 2013, emergency services were called to Epping Road following reports a car had crashed into a traffic island at the intersection of Lyonpark Avenue. A man and woman were found inside the bronze Mercedes E320 suffering from leg and chest injuries. Both were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital. The 77-year-old man was treated for chest pain and bruising while his 75-year-old wife received treatment for a broken leg and chest injuries. Officers attached to Ryde Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the crash and conducted examinations of the scene. Investigations into the collision are continuing and crash investigators urge any witnesses to contact police.
