Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on two men in Gateshead. Officers were called to an address in Camborne Grove at 10.59pm on Thursday, April 3. Police attended and found two men, both aged 28 years, with injuries. One man has suspected fractures to his jaw and collar bone as well as cuts and bruises to the face and body, he remains in hospital. The second man has a wound to his head and was discharged from hospital following treatment. A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and is currently helping police with their enquiries. A second man aged 29 has been arrested on suspicion of dishonest use of electricity and is also detained in custody. It is believed those involved in the incident are known to each other. Police are carrying out enquiries in the area and additional officers are on patrol to reassure the community.
