Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery of a shop near Taree yesterday. About 5am (Wednesday 3 December 2014), the owner of shop, a 57-year-old man, was at the counter of his shop on Crowdy Street, Harrington, when two teenage boys entered. The teens threatened the man demanding cash he refused and threw a set of scales at them. A struggle ensued between the man and one of the teens. One teen has then threatened a 48-year-old woman in the store and the other grabbed the cash register. Both boys then ran from the shop. Police were contacted and officers from Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation. Specialist forensic officers examined the scene. Investigators are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Taree Police Station or Crime Stoppers. Officers would like to speak to two teens that may be able to assist with their inquiries. They were described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 16 and 17, thin build, wearing dark trousers, black hooded jumpers and hats.
