Police are hunting vandals who torched a children’s wooden climbing frame at Chorlton Water Park. At about 8am on Sunday 20 April 2014, someone set fire to a tyre swing which quickly spread and set fire to the large wooden climbing frame. To replace or repair this climbing frame could cost between £10,000 and £12,000. PC Daniel Ayre, of Didsbury INPT, said: “This thoughtless act of vandalism has not only destroyed a much-loved kids climbing frame, but the considerable cost of its replacement will ultimately come out of the tax-payers pocket. “As a result, we are keen to catch whoever did this to demonstrate that we cannot tolerate wanton destruction like this.” Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
