Police are investigating after a fatal collision in the State’s south west yesterday. About 3pm (Wednesday 8 October 2014), emergency services were called to Gundagai Road, Coolac, after reports of two cars colliding. On arrival officers from Cootamundra Local Area Command found a blue Holden Rodeo and a white Toyota Landcrusier towing a tractor implement, had collided. The driver of the Landcrusier, a 72-year-old man, died at the scene. The passenger, a 46-year-old man, was taken to Cootamundra Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Rodeo, a 40-year-old man, was trapped for a short time before being removed and taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition. A crime scene was established and examined by Albury Crime Scene. Investigators will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
