Police are investigating after two trucks collided on the M1 Pacific Motorway in Cowan last night. About 9.45pm (Tuesday 27 May 2014), police and other emergency services received reports that two trucks travelling south on the M1 Motorway had collided. On arrival officers from Kuring Gai and Brisbane Water Traffic and Highway Patrol found a rigid truck and a B-Double truck had collided. The driver of the rigid truck, a 35-year-old man, was trapped in the cab before being freed by emergency services. He was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital and is believed to be in a serious but stable condition. The driver of the other truck, a 58-year-old man, was uninjured. An investigation into the incident is underway. The M1 was closed southbound for over an hour, however has now reopened.
