Police are investigating the indecent assault of a woman on Sydney’s eastern beaches yesterday. About 2pm (Friday 26 July), the 40-year-old woman was lying in a grassed area of Jack Vanny Reserve at Maroubra when she was approached by a man. The man leaned over her and touched her buttocks. The woman jumped up and ran away before calling police. Officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command searched the area but could not find the man involved. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 20s, approximately 186cm tall, short black hair, black bushy eyebrows, dark brown eyes, a weak chin and was wearing a black t-shirt and blue denim jeans. Anyone with information about the man involved should contact police at Eastern Beaches Local Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
