Police are on the hunt for people behind two separate armed robberies that happened within hours of each other in Philippi on Friday night. The first one happened around 7:00 p.m. along Maple Avenue. Police said three men held a woman at gunpoint, stole a safe and ran away. About an hour and a half later, a similar crime occurred on North Walnut Street. In this robbery, three men rang the doorbell to a home and shoved a gun in a persons face. That person was able to disarm the man who was holding the gun. All three men got away. Police said the suspects are in a grey colored Chevy truck with an emblem in the window. Investigators arent sure if the crimes are related. If you see anything suspicious or you know anything about these robberies, call 911.
