Police are overstepping in so many ways, but this one really struck a chord with me (pun intended) The office even read the law permitting the musician to play. But he was on such a power trip and so ignorant that he didnt even understand what he himself was reading. Probably like much of the shit he had to recite in the academy to get whatever badge he holds. I am a musician and if I was arrested for playing music in public when I am completely within my right, then I would definitely consider moving out of that state/country. I really hope this gets shared a lot more so that at LEAST this guy gets the charges dropped and can go back to playing in the subway (hes actually pretty good, but even if he wasnt, he has the right play!) and I hope that the spotlight gets shined on the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people like this guy who have incredible talent but have NO PLACE to show it. Sure, there is YouTube but what if that person has no computer or internet and just scrapes by? Should these talents be shunned and buried by the powers that be? I bet you that cop has zero artistic talent and probably knows zero artists otherwise he wouldnt have wasted his time pursuing this. As the person filming said, there are violent criminals and far worse crimes being committed every hour of every day in NYC. If you put this alleged offense (which isnt a crime at all) on the front page of the newspaper I guarantee people would complain that this isnt worth reading let alone involving cops that NYC residents tax dollars pay for. If you think COPS in this country need a check and things need to change overall, and you also support the arts and artists to be free and express themselves (especially when its totally LEGAL) then please share this! #FreeART #StopThisMadness
