Police are renewing their appeal for public assistance following the shooting murder of two people in Moama yesterday morning. About 9.00am (Wednesday 12 November 2014), police and emergency services were called to a property on Old Deniliquin Road, following reports that the body of a man and a woman had been located. Police from Deniliquin Local Area Command located two bodies, believed to be a 36-year-old Moama man and a 36-year-old Mathoura woman, in a vehicle on the side of the road. The pair are yet to be formally identified. Initial investigations indicate they suffered gun shot wounds. A crime scene has been established and the deaths are being treated as suspicious. Detectives attached to Deniliquin Local Area Command, together with State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, have established Strike Force Kennedia to investigate the deaths. They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact them via Crime Stoppers. Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
