Police are warning Springfield residents to remain vigilant after - TopicsExpress

Police are warning Springfield residents to remain vigilant after a spate of break and enters and motor vehicle thefts in the past week. Offenders have become brazen and committed numerous offences in the one area before leaving. They are also using forceful entries (smashing glass/door frames), so quick information to police could lead to the early detection and apprehension of offenders. Public information today has resulted in the successful foot chase and apprehension of an offender. Teams of police have been rostered around the clock to target known offenders and react to timely information from the public relating to offences being committed. Police advise residents to lock houses and vehicles (many offences occur when persons are at home), ensure valuables are not in sight of opportunistic offenders, park vehicles off the street if possible or as close as you can to your house or street lights to discourage offenders, and make your house and vehicle keys difficult to find. If you hear or see something that raises your suspicion, contact Springfield police on 3814 8999.
