Police arrest 44 over PDP, APC clashes in Lagos ================ The police said yesterday in Lagos that 44 persons had been arrested in connection with clashes between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Abule Egba and Mushin areas of the city. Three persons were feared killed in the fracas while property worth millions of naira was destroyed. The police said 24 persons were arrested in Abule Egba while 20 others were held in Mushin. Those arrested in Abule Egba are currently being detained at the Elere Police Division while others are being detained at Area D in Mushin. Lagos police spokesman Kenneth Nwosu told Daily Trust that those arrested would soon be transferred to the relevant quarters for further investigation and subsequent prosecution. He said the police recovered four cutlasses and one axe from the scene of the Abule Egba incident.
