Police attack seven are sentenced SEVEN Bahrainis have been sentenced to 15 years in prison for targeting policemen with a bomb.Four officers were injured in the blast and the Bahraini defendants were convicted of attempted murder by the High Criminal Court yesterday.However, only one of them, aged 17, is in custody and six are still at large.Two sets of brothers are among the defendants, who placed the device among burning tyres.They took cover some 200m away and when police arrived to remove the debris, one of them triggered the bomb by tugging on a fishing line.It happened near the entrance of Al Quraya village in July last year.Police confiscated a homemade explosive projectile found at the scene, along with the 17-year-olds shoes, goggles and mask.All were convicted of participating in an illegal gathering, arson and possessing Molotov cocktails. The 17-year-old was seen hugging his father, who was in tears, after the verdict.
