Police foil employees’ protest march in Srinagar Jammu Kashmir Khabr Nama Srinagar, Dec 31: Police Wednesday foiled a protest march of members of J&K Urban Local Bodies Employees United Forum (ULBEUF) and detained scores of them. The protestors, who assembled at Press Enclave here, demanded regularization of daily wagers and consolidated staff, transparent and time-bound transfer policy, and the release of 6th pay commission arrears. They also demanded revocation of transfer orders which they alleged were issued during model code of conduct (MCC). Police swung into action as the protestors tried to march towards busy Residency Road and detained scores of them. They were lodged in Kothibagh Police Station. Earlier, speaking to media persons, president of the Forum, Manzoor Pampori alleged that some of the executive officials were transferred at the time when the MCC was in force. We also demand that those (transfer) orders should be revoked forthwith, he said.
