Police have arrested a 33-year-old man from Evanston Gardens following a short pursuit at Elizabeth last night. At about 11.40pm, police attempted to stop a Daewoo Sedan on Midway Road. Police pursued the vehicle for a short time before it collided with a hedge fence on Tolmer Road, Elizabeth Park. The alleged driver and sole occupant of the vehicle ran off. Patrols quickly set up cordons before police dogs Jack and Ella sniffed out the man who was in a nearby rear yard. The man was charged with fail to stop, driving without due care, driving unlicensed and carry offensive weapon. He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
