Police have charged a man and woman with multiple alleged aggravated break, enter and steal offences across Sydney. Officers attached to the St George Anti-Theft Unit launched an investigation following a police pursuit with Central Metropolitan Highway Patrol on Thursday 6 November 2014, allegedly involving a 31-year-old woman and 22-year-old man. After the pursuit, police seized a silver Mercedes that checks later revealed had been stolen during a previous incident. During a search of the vehicle, police located a large amount of property suspected of being stolen. Following inquiries police executed a search warrant at a storage unit on Friday 7 November 2014, where they located further property that was linked to various alleged break-ins and steal from motor vehicle offences across St George, Harbourside, Miranda and Ashfield local area commands. About 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 10 November 2014), police from the Police Transport Command responded to reports of a domestic dispute near Eden Street at Arncliffe. A 31-year-old woman – allegedly involved in the dispute – was arrested by the St George Anti-Theft Unit in relation to their ongoing investigation and taken to Kogarah Police Station. A 22-year-old man was arrested a short time later at a second location and also taken to Kogarah Police Station. After arresting the man, police located a vehicle containing property believed to be linked to a number of break-ins in the St George Local Area Command. The 22-year-old man was charged with: - Aggravated break, enter and steal (two counts); - Break, enter and steal (seven counts); - Steal from motor vehicle (three counts); - Drive whilst disqualified; - Assault; - Take and drive conveyance; - Malicious damage; and, - Five outstanding warrants. The 31-year-old woman was charged with: - Aggravated break, enter and steal (two counts); - Steal from motor vehicle (four counts); and, - Deal in proceeds of crime (two counts). The pair was refused bail to appear before Kogarah Local Court today (Tuesday 11 November 2014).
