Police have issued a retraction of the missing persons report filed this morning by Winston Smiling, 74. An earlier police report said that Smilings common-law wife, Florence Arthurs, 50, a Belizean businesswoman of Belama, had not been seen since yesterday afternoon. The report said that a person known to Smiling had told him that he had received a call from an unknown number asking him to pick up Ms. Florence’s vehicle - a Toyota Highlander - from Brodies parking lot on the Philip Goldson Highway. Police later sent a notice saying that she is not missing, but provided no explanation.
