Police have recovered the body of a man who fell down a cliff in the Royal National Park south of Sydney today. About 10.30am (Sunday 8 June 2014), emergency services received reports the man had fallen approximately 40 metres down the cliff north of Little Marley Beach. It is believed he was with a group of seven other walkers at the time of the incident; however the exact circumstances remain unclear. Police Rescue as well as SES officers and Fire & Rescue NSW personnel launched a recovery operation this afternoon. About 6.30pm, officers reached the man’s body and he’s been brought to the top of the cliff face. The operation is however ongoing as emergency services are currently continuing through the national park on foot. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner and inquires into the matter are continuing.
