Police have resumed water, land and air searches for a light plane which crashed into water east of Cape Raoul, Tasman Peninsula yesterday evening. The Police Vessel Van Diemen along with other vessels are on the water. 2 helicopters are conducting air-based searches and foot searches are being conducted by police, search and rescue personnel and SES volunteers in the Remarkable Caves and Crescent Bay areas. The aircraft was a single engine Cessna with a pilot and one passenger on board. At this stage of the search, neither the pilot nor the passenger have been found. Our thoughts are with the families at this time.
