Police in Kingston are investigating a series of mindless damage incidents which occurred overnight between the 9th and 10th May 2014. During this one spree 19 vehicles were damaged between Lower Sandy Bay and Blackmans Bay, including addresses in Taroona and Kingston. The offenders used spray paint in green and fluorescent yellow to offensively decorate the vehicles and in most cases also kicked off side mirrors. In two of the 19 cases the offenders have also poured a corrosive substance onto the vehicle requiring considerable paintwork to be replaced. “Incidents of damage like these are examples of senseless, mindless vandalism which will not be condoned, said Inspector Lindsay. “The offenders have shown a complete lack of respect for people and property. “Our officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have knowledge of this incident or who knows of anyone who may have been involved.” Anyone with information is asked to call Kingston Police on 03 6173 2090 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
