Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses, after a 70-year-old man was injured during a hit-and-run incident in Whitburn at around 1pm yesterday (Sunday). The man had just left the bowling club on West Main Street, and was crossing the road when he was involved in a collision with a white van. Following the collision, the vehicle failed to stop and a member of the public came to the mans aid. He later attended at St Johns Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries to his legs. Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their ongoing investigation to come forward. Inspector Dougie Simpson said: Fortunately, the elderly male did not sustain more serious injury but we remain keen to trace the driver of the van as soon as possible. Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision, or who has information that can help us locate this individual is asked to contact police immediately. Similarly, I would urge the driver to get in touch and help us establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
