Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses, following a break-in and theft in Ellen Street, Whitburn, sometime between 1pm and 2.15pm yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. When the female occupant returned home, she discovered that her home had been entered and various pieces of jewellery worth over £5,000 had been taken. Anyone who can assist officers with their ongoing enquiry is asked to come forward. DC Ally Urquhart said: This break-in was carried out in broad daylight and resulted in a high-value theft of jewellery. The victim is very distressed at the theft of her belongings and local officers have carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area as part of our investigation. I would encourage anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area on Tuesday afternoon to contact police immediately.
