Police investigating two separate robberies on taxi drivers last month have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquiries. About 12.30am on Wednesday 17 September 2014, a man was picked up by a taxi at a taxi rank near Strathfield Train Station. The man sat in the front seat of the taxi and directed the driver towards Kingsgrove. When the taxi was on Kimberley Street, Hurstville the passenger allegedly held a syringe to the driver and demanded money before fleeing. About 4.40am on Monday 29 September 2014, a man was picked up by a taxi at a taxi rank near Rockdale Train Station. The man asked to be taken to Banksia. When the taxi was at Mariena Street, Banksia, the man allegedly held a blood filled syringe towards the driver and demanded money before fleeing. The man has been described as being of Asian appearance, aged in his 30s and with thin build. Detectives from St George Local Area Command are investigating the incidents and have released CCTV footage of a man that may be able to assist with enquiries. Anyone who might know the identity or current whereabouts of the man captured in the CCTV should immediately contact police via Crime Stoppers.
