Police officer Puts a gun in the face of a fifth-grader of African descent April 2, 2014 Filed Screen Shot 2014-04-02 at 4.24.40 PM A fifth-grade boy in Georgia went through the terror of his life as he says that he was confronted by a police officer who pulled a gun out on him. Omari Grant, an 11-year old who was building a tree house with his friends, says that a neighbor called police on the boys for what they were doing. However, the neighbor was only calling the police out of fear for the safety of the children, not for them to be terrorized. But the little boy had no idea what was going to happen after that. “I guess the release of tension was like, ‘Mom, he had a gun in my face, Mommy. Mommy, he had a gun in my face,’” said Janice Baptiste, Omari’s mother, according to WSBTV. When Henry County police officers walked the boy home, it was after they’d scared him half to death. He says that the officers rolled up on the boys while they were building the tree fort behind his house. He also says that the officer cussed at him and told the boys to lay down on the ground like criminals. “So my son was of course traumatized by that,” Baptiste said. Edgar Dillard, a man whose wife called police and said that the boys were pulling off tree limbs, says that the couple was stunned to hear about the officers and their drastic actions. under children, News Posted by admin
