Police ‘rebuke’ people for overpowering dacoit From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: People staged a demonstration against police after they allegedly misbehaved with them for overpowering a dacoit at Shaheenabad on Sunday. Three dacoits were busy robbing passersby of cash and valuables when people gathered there and overpowered one of the three dacoits while the others fled. The people also thrashed him. The overpowered dacoit was later identified as Khurram Shahzad of Arslan Colony. The people also informed police but they allegedly arrived late. Instead of thanking the people, police allegedly misbehaved with them. It infuriated the people and they staged a demonstration against police on GT Road. They were chanting slogans against police. In the meantime, police high-ups reached there and held talks with the protesters and assured them of justice. MAN SHOT DEAD: A man was murdered over a monetary dispute here on Sunday. Mukhtar alias Bhola allegedly gunned down Waqas at Hashmi Colony. Khiali police have registered a case and started investigations.
