Police, restrict use of tear gas I am disappointed at the way our police has resorted to using tear gas to put out all demonstrations, whether peaceful or violent. We appreciate that it is their role to keep law and order but they ought to do it with a degree of professionalism, especially in the way they relate with people. Does it necessarily mean that whenever you go to arrest somebody you should be rude, use a lot of force and use tear gas? My appeal goes to the heads of police departments to give more training to the junior officers on how to handle situations in non-violent ways. Remember some are just newly trained and do not know how to handle certain situations. We have many cases of the called stray bullets where people have lost lives and others left wounded.
