Police say they expect more arrests in Malamulele, Limpopo, following protests in the area. They have so far arrested more than 20 protesters who clashed with police. The residents are demanding their own municipality. Their area currently falls under the Thulamela Municipality. Several vehicles and offices have been burnt and some retail shops looted. Police spokesperson Alson Mapindi says, We are on the way of opening the case of violence, malicious damage to property, suspected stolen property, because presently I can say plus or minus 25 people were arrested for those issues, but I think we will arrest a lot of people.
