Police terrorism in Maisuma and adjacent areas unacceptable: Incarcerated JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik, will go for an indefinite hunger strike from tomorrow …. JKLF organizes protest sit in for Kashmiri prisoners at Partap Park...Killers of young Pulwama girl should be given an exemplary punishment…. SRINAGER//Police and forces have unleashed a reign of terror in Maisuma and adjacent areas. Nocturnal raids, arrests and other oppressive measures have made the lives of its residents a hell. It seems that authorities and their police is hell bent upon taking a revenge of election boycott from this locality. This state terrorism has forced me to go for an indefinite hunger strike from Sunday 21st December 2014. This was stated by the ailing incarcerated chairman of JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued today. Yasin Malik who is under police custody and was shifted to Soura medical institute recently while condemning the ongoing police crackdown on Maisuma residents said that Maisuma and its adjacent areas are being terrorized by police because the people of these localities boycotted the farce elections and held peaceful protests against it. Yasin sahib said that police has resorted to oppressive tactics of 80’s when Police used to arrest fathers and mothers in place of their son’s. He said that father of a political activist in Maisuma has been arrested and his whereabouts are yet not known to his family. Police even locked his shop at Maisuma. Nocturnal raids, cordons, search operations have become the order of the day and even people who were praying at a local mosque were paraded forcefully today. Yasin sahib said that SP police and his SHO have started this revengeful operation at the behest of pro India politicians and rulers and by using undemocratic means they are trying to terrorize the whole locality. Police in nocturnal raids is harassing common citizens and situation has become so tense in the whole area that residents are planning migration from the area .He said that Many Maisuma boys including Ishfaq Hussain, Faisal Aslam and Aadil Ahmad who were arrested before elections where send to STF camp by police SP and SHO where they were tortured and are still in custody with fractured legs and arms. He said that police used same tactics in 1980’s also when mothers and fathers were arrested in place of their son’s that if same tactics of penalizing fathers and mothers in place of their son’s is done by someone else, authorities use it as a propaganda against the doers, dub this as terrorism and news papers are filled with articles against that but today when police across the valley especially at the heart of Lal Chowk is terrorizing common people by oppressive measures no one is daring to write a few lines about this. While expressing regret over the valley news papers and news agencies, Yasin Malik said that from last six days Maisuma people are being terrorized day in and out but no one but this has not become even a small news for media people. This is really unfortunate and regrettable. He said that police is arresting fathers in place of their sons but no one seems to bother and raise voice against this state terrorism. Yasin Malik said that same police brutalities in 1987 pushed a generation to armed struggle and today when police is pushing non violent peaceful political workers to the wall, it is actually promoting violence. Yasin sahib announced that he cannot watch this police terrorism silently and despite illness has decided to go for an indefinite hunger strike against this state terrorism from Sunday 21st December 2014. Meanwhile JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest sit-in at Partap Park. This peaceful sit-in was held in solidarity with the prisoners of Jammu Kashmir.
