Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner following a fatal crash in Moree yesterday. Shortly before 11.45pm (Wednesday 22 January 2014), police were called to Gwydir Highway following reports two cars had collided. Police have been told a 52-year-old man was driving a silver Ford ute west on the highway while a white Toyota Landcruiser car with a woman and two men, was travelling east. As a result of the collision, one of the men in the Landcruiser was taken to Tamworth Hospital and the other man and woman were taken to Moree Hospital, all to be treated for minor injuries. The man in the ute suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Crash investigators attended and a crime scene was established. Police continue to investigate the incident.
