Polish observer Jan Pawlicki reports from Crimean Peninsula. If I - TopicsExpress

Polish observer Jan Pawlicki reports from Crimean Peninsula. If I read this report correctly, Jan and other observers decided to stay with Ukrainian solders who holed themselves up in an administrative building on the Ukrainian military base. Russian operatives had already sabotaged all Ukrainian airplanes at this particular base, so the solders in the admin building are the only remaining Ukrainian stronghold there. Earlier, the Ukrainian soldiers -- led by the colonel shown on the photo -- marched toward the Russians and faced them down. The Ukrainians went unarmed, singing patriotic songs, just to make a point. As far as I understood the video clip shown on YouTube ( youtu.be/cCNwQKhgo7M ), the Ukrainians carried the Ukrainian national flag as well as an old Soviet flag just to make the Russians back off. (If someone who knows Russian could listen to the video clip linked above and tell me what exactly was said in it, I would appreciate it.) As the night falls, the Ukrainian soldiers and Polish observer(s) stay inside the building... expecting the Russians to return overnight or in the morning. What are we doing to help them?
