Political observers and to some extent the public in general are raising a very pertinent question regarding the outcome of the current phase of agitation in the Darjeeling Hills. There is no doubt that the resolution of this demand is not going to be immediate but has the movement taken a right path in the past 6 weeks? The inconsistency in taking political decisions (be it single or joint decisions) during the agitation raises serious questions about the outcome? Any movement has a cost attached to it (not necessarily monetary only) but the leaders should make sure that results outweigh the cost incurred and the ultimate beneficiary is the general public and not only the privileged few !!! What say, readers and analysts?
