Politically speaking, I am in No Mans Land. We Libertarians are - TopicsExpress

Politically speaking, I am in No Mans Land. We Libertarians are too few to bring about change. It has been my view that too many people want government involved for whatever reasons for their agenda, left and right. I am starting to shift in my belief that we dont need government. I just wish we had a more honest, trustworthy government. I dont just mean this administration, but every administration going forward. I dont like the idea of government intrusion but what else can we do when we have so many people in this nation; probably the world, that has no compassion for their fellow human beings? I see too many stories on FB, TV, in print, and in day to day conversations of selfishness, of little if any regard for others. An example: Are we really that far gone as a species that we would complain about our taxes providing lunches to children in schools? In response to this particular story, people were responding that the father was not a man since his child needed a lunch provided. This is just one example but look around, listen...you will notice many others. You may even notice yourselves being a culprit, I know I have. It seems we cannot or will not do it on our own. No more! If someone is hungry, feed them. If someone is in pain, comfort them. If someone is lost, direct them. Do not judge, try to understand! A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Albert Einstein Dammit! Life is not a contest to be won!!!
