Politico Breaking News: President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke Sunday following Crimeas vote to secede from Ukraine and join Russia, the White House and the Kremlin said in separate statements. Obama told Putin that the vote - in which more than 95 percent of ballots cast were in favor of joining Russia - would never be recognized by the United States and the international community, the White House said in its readout. Obama also emphasized that Russias actions were in violation of Ukraines sovereignty and territorial integrity and that, in coordination with our European partners, we are prepared to impose additional costs on Russia for its actions.
