Politics On Hakeemullah Mehsuds Death If peace talks were not - TopicsExpress

Politics On Hakeemullah Mehsuds Death If peace talks were not derailed by repeated militant attacks in recent months, why must an attack on the TTP leadership necessarily scuttle the possibility of talks? Are the militants a sacred cow which must be solicitously guarded? Some politicians are fuming over the drone strike that has killed Hakeemullah - a Pakistani militant supremo - but they are not so furious when the brutal, smart and dangerous enemies of Pakistan kill hundreds of innocent compatriots. Whenever an act of terrorism takes place, they come up with a routine statement in which they condemn the incident and ask the ‘authorities’ to take ‘all steps’ for the arrest of the murderers. It seems that all the noise about the murder of the local Taliban leader is meant to look for a scapegoat: the US is derailing peace talks.
