Politics has become the most corrupt corporation of all times today. Ethics, morals, values are buried in empty debates & words with no practical implications. Corporate culture in international politics is inclined to make money & power the utmost priority leading to a deadly deterioration of humanity. When I was growing up, it was just Palestine & Kashmir that was suffering. Now, I am 41 years old & Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Pakistan, Somalia are added to the list & more seem to be coming.... What have we done wrong as civilians to see so much oppression & blood-shed? It seems like a dark cloud spreading its deadly wings over one nation after another killing innocent civilians indiscriminately. There are laws but only for some. Laws are changed, manipulated, molded to suit the needs of the elite all at the cost of humanity. I see UN, MSF, Red Cross, Amnesty International banging their heads against a wall making a change but minuscule compared to the destruction brought about by oppressors. I see them helpless & it just makes me very uncomfortable as a non-political civilian. I ask myself. Is it safe to leave the future of my children in the hands of corrupt politicians & helpless humanitarian organizations? What will happen in 20 years will tell me if my children will still have an Earth to live on, an Earth not compromised in another world war to the point of apocalypse, an Earth where bullies & oppressors are not glorified, an Earth where justice is same for all nations regardless of their religion, power & money. Looking at everything going around me today, can I hope for such an Earth in 20 years from now. No. I will be a foolish optimistic to believe that all is well when ALL IS SO UNWELL. What can I do as a peaceful non-violent civilian to ensure a safe future for my children? I think that the one & only thing that I & we as peaceful & non-violent civilians can do is to stop tolerating unethical, immoral & oppressive behavior around us. We dont have to kill anyone. We just have to speak up, yell, scream, shout & do it together so that we are heard. It has been our tolerance that has quadrupled the list of countries with major number of innocent fatalities not from accident but from war. Our silence & Our tolerance is the strength of the Oppressor. So, please do not SHUT UP.
