Polly the Horse Comes Back From the Brink of Death. When Polly the horse was discovered, she was incredibly ill and emaciated. Polly was one of three horses who had been abandoned in, Buckinghamshire, UK and was the only one of these three to survive. It is hard to imagine that anyone would leave these horses in such terrible condition. When rescuers first found Polly, she was little more than a skeleton. Barely able to stand up, Polly was just holding on to life. Polly was brought to the Horse Trust for care. Her caretakers say she was one of the most emaciated horses they had ever seen. Polly’s recovery was very slow and did not come easy. It seemed that every positive improvement was followed by another challenge. But neither Polly nor her doting caretakers were willing to give up! Six months later, Polly’s weight finally stabilized and she was even able to join the herd of other horses living at Horse Trust. Her caretakers expect that Polly will need special care for the duration of her life, but for now she is free to be a happy horse at the sanctuary!
