Pompeii (2D): Until today I didnt think it possible to create a film containing not one new idea. But Pompeii proves it can be done. Every single aspect of this film is something youve seen before. And interestingly, every copied idea is done less well than the original. The basic story involves a Britain captured during the Roman occupation (Carry On Cleo), who is transferred to Pompeii to become a Gladiator (Spartacus), before a fight in the arena where the gladiators have to fight together (Gladiator), before the eruption and an escape in a chariot (Ben Hur). Theres a love story thrown in to kill some time and thats it. On top of all this, the dialogue is terrible. Nevertheless, the actors soldier on in this disaster of a disaster movie. Strangely, the film is so bad that you stop worrying about it and I found myself enjoying the predictable ride. 4/10
