Ponca City friends, Im taking a break for a few minutes just to encourage everyone (YES, EVERYONE) to make plans to get out and enjoy the day tomorrow in Ponca. Go downtown and visit the Paris Market! Mary J. Steichen is spinning around like a top today to get everything ready for tomorrows opening day. If youve missed the heartfelt joy of an old-fashioned Christmas, GO. Shes recreating memories and helping make new ones. Being downtown in Ponca City is fun again! There is so much going on in our central business district again. Fewer and fewer empty storefronts, and people are BUSY doing life downtown again. Work has started on the Veterans Plaza at Fourth and Grand. Take a look and get ready for this spectacular project to add its patriotic touch to our town. It will be a monument to all veterans who have ever served from Kay County! The Holiday Happenings tomorrow will involve four of our landmark locations. Go to the Marland Mansion (spectacular at Christmas), the Pioneer Woman Museum, Marlands Grand Home and the Ponca City Arts Center. All are having free admission and open houses, and these places are knocking themselves out to bring us the Christmas spirit. There are activities, refreshments, entertainment, shopping. Truly something for everyone. Dont forget to go to Union Street Marketplace at the Opportunity Center. Lots of vendors with holiday offerings. And you can stop to eat chicken and noodles while youre there. Im counting on it myself. I just hope I have the energy to make it to all of the locations Ive mentioned!
