Pondering with Paul Have you ever thought about how hard it is to be a listener? Its harder than keeping your mouth closed while showering. (Give it a try). Lol. When I was working at Steel Fab I punched a hole through two of my fingers. They had to graft one of my fingers to my stomach so it would have some padding. So as I walked around with a over sized T Shirt on, people would ask me what happened. Before I could finish telling them, they wanted to tell me all about their finger or someone elses finger and how they had injured theirs. Most of them still dont know what happened to my fingers. So I started thinking, do I do that? Am I a listener or a talker? Listening is hard to do. At least it is for me. I put a note on my office door that said, be quick to listen and slow to speak. Try to be a listener. O-yea, not everybody needs to be fixed either, they just need someone to talk to. People will think youre a great fixer and all you did was listen.
