Pontefract Collieires FC travel to North Shields FC in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday 16th August 2014. Coach leave Exscape at 11:00am, £5 per person. Pontefract Collieries Football Club is building a future for local football on the foundations built by the former miners of the Prince of Wales Colliery who gave Pontefract something to be proud of. We are one of only two teams in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League at retain the link to our heritage with the miners, we retain the proud name of Pontefract Collieries and there is Staverly Miners Welfare. Many of you from Pontefract and sounding areas will have some link with the Prince of Wales Colliery and some the built those foundation for us to continue to play football on the site, we thank you all and would like to see you at the supporting the club in our aim for promotion and to be part of the new Stadium soon to be built on the site, with improvements to the lane, new changing rooms and clubhouse, parking, pitch and open up Sinner Lane, we will retain the old built by the miners to remind us of what they achieved. We have 20 teams ranging from 5 year old through to Open Age first team together with the learning difficulties teams junior and open age and a ladies team. We have also gained Olympic Status.
