Poor Fred had much to dread. Approximately 18 months old, this Boxer-Pit Bull mix arrived at the Chester County Animal Care & Control shelter in South Carolina on March 19th. Surrendered by his owner, Fred was understandably frightened to be at the shelter. Despite lots of networking efforts, there was no adopter or rescue interest. It didnt help that Fred was heartworm positive and a Pit Bull mix. On April 24th, Speranza Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania offered to take Fred if they could get some help to cover his heartworm treatment costs. RADAR was asked to help, and we immediately agreed. Freds freedom was now secured! Fred had his heartworm treatment done on May 13th. These were some things we were told about Fred: At the shelter he would always reach his paws out of his kennel whenever someone passed by. He was so eager to get a hug. He is good with people and other dogs. Fred is a very sweet and handsome boy!
