Poor Obama, he cant win for losing. The central and South American governments are maturing, and the public is more informed. The policy of interference there predates Reagan, but Reagan really let loose down there, causing problems all over, with the help of his ex CIA chief Vice President. The growth in cocaine trafficking under Reagan was a growth industry, crack cocaine became the curse on the blacks. The role of our government in drug trafficking was exposed in Iran contra, Eugene Hassenfuss affairs, and then the invasion of Panama and arrest of our hand picked, trained and installed el presidente, but how many of us remember all and can connect the dots. The revolution in El Salvador and the Civil war in Nicragua, I guess Obama is too young to remember, or is it that following the brash Bush he did not want to appear too weak. Any way, none of it can used as a sole excuse for the exodus. The situation in Central America, or even places like Pakistan or Haiti are a warning to the oligarchs (thieves) that are taking too much money while the government goes broke that they are going to destabilize the country.
