Poor turnout for Village Society meeting. ========================= Minutes of Half Yearly Meeting of GVS 17.10.13 Apologies R Glave A Glave A Jarvis D Jarvis Present -10 members and the Management Committee Chairperson’s Report Alan thanked everyone for coming and apologised for the fact that the T&A newspaper had printed the start time of the meeting as 7.30pm He explained that the management committee had met 4 times since the AGM in March to discuss issues and events. A summer walk on 22.8.13, led by Alan, across Shipley Glen and ending at The Glen pub had proved enjoyable to all who attended. On 31.8.13 the Society joined with helpers from the church to cook breakfasts in St Wildrid’s Hall for people attending Bingley Live in Myrtle Park. A total of £66 was made and handed over to the church hall re-furbishment fund. Thirty youngsters attended the Family Fun evening on 27.9.13, with relatives and friends. The event proved a success, with one parent asking if we could hold the event weekly! A total of £70 was made and again handed to the church fund. Eldwick Primary School Sandra Brown, a campaigner for fair access to Eldwick school, for Gilstead children, explained that Bradford LA has not yet put together its proposals for merging the admission areas. She passed round a list for people willing to write to the LA to rally support for Gilstead children. Sandra will advise members when to put pen to paper. Gardening Rota J Rayner and M Exley volunteered to join the next gardening rota. Alan explained that the LA are still intending to do some maintainance work on the flower beds near the top bus stop, but the visits will be infrequent, due to budget restraints. Any other Business * Users attending the toddler group in the church hall on a Thursday morning are continuing to block the bus stop with their vehicles. The neighbourhood policing team will be contacted about the matter * Vehicles are continuing to ignore the 20mhp speed limit through the village. One member has noticed a white Audi regularly contravening the limit and will endeavour to obtain the registration number. The NPT will also be informed of the issue.
