Poorly written article: The Battle of Camden by Matt Cosentino If you wanted to get an authentic picture of Camden why not ask the residents? I have lived in Waterfront South, East Camden and Cooper Plaza and my neighbors cry out to God for strength, share their food and live community, unlike the burbs, we know our neighbors, we know our local doctors, teachers, shopkeepers, bankers and neighborhood kids. The problem with Camden has a lot to do with economics- I taught this at an educational retreat center to high school and college students from around the country. The problems are unjust. We need to examine the systemic problems and also the role of the suburbs. Camdens problem is as a result of a suburban contstant ridicule, judgement, criticism! You can never see her glory- you cant unless you live here! Unless you open your eyes to some of the everyday miracles. Whats disgraceful is that the drug lords are from the suburbs that you have claimed safety to, the other striking issue are the white suburban druggies who menace the city. Why is this allowed? How long must this continue? Camden people are not anywhere else making a fool of themselves why are teenagers from Suburban towns tailgating before concerts with hard liquor and trashing our water front? Stop dropping your trash off in the town where i decide to put my tax dollars! Why not write about the distasteful revelation of truth from a resident....hmmm?
