TRANSPORT CAN BE ARRANGED ALMOST ANYWHERE. ______________________________________________________________ DIXIE What precious dog Dixie is!! Dixie was found at a local grade school, bleeding from the mouth. The vet clinic took her in and diagnosed her with possible poisoning. How absolutely horrible!! It was soon discovered this darling gal was a product of divorce. She was unwanted by the husband and wife so they just tossed her aside, abandoned her, possibly poisoned her! Dixie is currently taking vitamin K for this and has responded very well and is expected to make a full recovery. But, now she needs help in finally a LOVING home, one she can trust. Dixie has an absolutely wonderful personality but does need to continue with her socialization. It is estimated that Dixie is about a year old and breeding is unknown. I felt like she was a possible Great Dane mix. A vet tech said Greyhound, while the vet said Black Mountain Cur. Either way, she is a large dog, although significantly underweight, at moment (weighs only 66lbs). She is a beautiful, light brindle with red tint and white socks. Dixie will be fully vetted when she leaves the vet clinic. She is also hw neg. Please help her! The vet clinic is not set up for such a large dog and Dixie stays in a large crate, when she is not outside. LAYLA ($200 SPONSOR) Update (11-19-2014): My sweet, precious Layla! She has been waiting for a wonderful rescue to help her. Unfortunately, she is becoming closer to my heart each day. I watch her blossom into her own personality. She has began playing with the other dogs, especially my little Delilah (8lbs). The other day, Layla was playing with the dogs her own size. She seems a bit unsure but she is learning. Update (11-9-2014): As I update you on Laylas journey, Layla is softly snoring as she sleeps on the couch with two of my dogs. It saddens me to think that there is no home or rescue for this precious dog. Layla continues to do well. She surprised me this week by trying to engage one of my pack in play. It is wonderful to know that this senior can still have the heart of a pup. Update (11-2-2014): This precious, senior dog is still with me. She is just adorable. Layla deserves to have her final forever home. Please consider giving her a chance. Layla had been found wandering the streets of Poplar Bluff, MO. But, the family who found her did not want to take her to high kill shelter, where she would have probably died in the gas chamber. Layla had been accepted into a rescue but before she was scheduled for transport, the family that found her called and said they wanted to keep her. But, sadly, the husband did not like Layla from the start. He did whatever he could to sabotage Laylas stay in the home. Now, she is with me and looking for a rescue. During her spay, it was discovered Laylas uterus was rotting and she wouldnt have survived much longer. But, now she is doing just fine. The former rescue moved on and now doesnt have room for her. So, she is again, in need of rescue. Layla is an older gal. We estimate her to be around 8-9 years old and weighs about 40lbs. She is a mix of indeterminant breeding. She is a beauty with a coat that is fairly long and soft. Layla moved in with my 16 dogs and is doing well. Plus, she seems to be house-broken and crate trained. Layla is now spayed and up to date on her shots. She may have a previous injury to her left, hind leg but indicates no pain. Please give Layla a chance at a forever home. Please know that Layla will only go to an accepted and approved rescue. I have fallen in love with this beautiful and strong girl. GCagleTRCCPsych@aol or 618-791-5931.
