Popped out for a run last night in the dark. Told the mrs where I was going, but half way round decided to change my route. Got me to thinking what if I have an issue? I have a mobile with runkeeper on it, this does live tracking, but I dont fancy taking my smart phone out (galaxy s4) as it is too big and even if I pop it in a plastic bag, sweat / rain and electric dont mix. Also, it relies on the phone being charged - we all know batteries and smartphones arent brilliant. I was thinking about a small portable gps tracker.
