Port Authority has announced that schedules for 22 bus routes will be enhanced and adjusted effective Sunday, August 31, 2014. Thanks to the benefits generated from the State’s approval of Act 89 last year, Port Authority is able to enhance some of its existing routes and especially is targeting those where riders are experiencing overcrowding and on-time issues. For the Hilltop, the 51 Carrick will run more frequently during weekday morning and afternoon peak periods to help address overcrowding. An earlier first trip will be added on Sundays, and trip times will be adjusted throughout the week. On the 51L Carrick Limited, extra morning and afternoon trips will be added to help address overcrowding on this route, as well as on the 51 Carrick. The schedule for the 48 Arlington will also be adjusted to provide better spacing of trip times with the 51 Carrick.
