Port Captain: For one of our clients we are looking for a Port Captain. Your responsibilities as a Port Captain will be: Act as the operational link between vessels and operations department. You are responsible for the preparation, supervision and co-ordination of Heavy-lift operations worldwide. At office: * voyage preparations; * prepare stowage and lifting plans, including stability calculations; * assist Adjunct Director Productions whenever required; * assist Engineering department in processing commercial inquiries and stowage plans; * co-ordinate with shippers, port agents and stevedores regarding cargo-operations; Outside office: * local co-ordination and supervision of all matters regarding cargo and loading; * consult with port-authorities, port-agents and stevedores; * inspect cargo in all respects and liaison with shippers. * liaise with surveyors; * co-ordinate the delivery cq. receiving of cargo; * order and control fabrication and delivery of materials required; * order and co-ordinate of other services required, such as (but not limited to): stevedoring- and workshop-services, barges & tugs etc. and prepare or adjust intended stowage and lifting plans. Upon arrival: * familiarize master and officers with intended cargo operations, cargo details, stowage planning, services and voyage-details. During Cargo Ops: * consult and assist vessels captain; * update stowage and lifting planning; * liaise with shore: liaise with shippers, transporters, stevedores and surveyors; * damage and safety control; * documentation: liaise with documentation department and local port agents; * control invoicing of stevedores and other services rendered; * prepare proper instructions for cargo destination or next port.
