Port Jack bathing creek in Onchan. This little sun trap was always packed on fine days in the summer. The water on the steeply shelving, shingle beach was always clear and clean…well, it looked clear and clean even though a sewer discharged into the sea not all that far away…but nobody seemed to mind .. I learnt to swim here and the Shark’s Tooth rock made an ideal diving platform . We kids never went on the main beach, our favourite spot was an area of flat, smooth rock just around the corner…..with quite a high water fall from the stream in Port Jack Glen splashing nearby. Now that sewage no longer discharges there, nobody seems to swim there anymore …but of course , there is a nice pool in Douglas now
